Good solid dirt, short sandy spots of maybe 1/4 mile. Local dirtbags call this prison break country from past escapes from the big prison in Danemora.

According to New York’s DEC, this is called Sable Highlands Conservation Easement Lands. I don’t know why it’s not green on google, but New York State considers portions of this area to be public use. And the roads are definitely public.

I think its mostly private land or leased...but if you google mapped the same area, state forest shows up as green usually.

Thinking of doing this trail on my fat bike this summer. Are there any spots to tent or hammock camp along this route and/or the route from Mountain View to Malone?
