Empire Trail - Erie Blvd (Paved)

Pavement route from Towpath Rd to Towpath Rd, Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York

"Paved Empire Trail separated from traffic by a dedicated, two-way path that mostly rides along the median of Erie Blvd. The trail does cross a few very busy intersections and trail traffic has its own crossing lights. Use those to safely cross these intersections. As the trail gets closer to the City of Syracuse, there are street-crossing sections that have STOP signs for trail traffic. Use caution when crossing here as auto traffic turning onto these cross streets may not see a moving cyclist."

Erie Canal/Empire Trail (Asphalt Section)

Pavement route from Butternut Dr to Manlius Center Rd, Kirkville, Onondaga County, New York

"Part of the extensive NY Empire Trail that crosses NY state. This section is paved but should be included on this site given that it is a recreational segment and not a road. On nice days this section of the Empire Trail is moderately-to-heavily used by all types of recreators: Walkers, runners, in-line skaters, cyclists, etc."
